How to apply

Become a Baptistcare volunteer

Our volunteers bring a wealth of skills, knowledge and individuality to enrich our residents and customers lives.

Help us make a difference and have a positive impact on your community – become a volunteer with Baptistcare!

If you would like to join our volunteer community, simply follow these steps.

Browse through our latest opportunities from across our locations to find the perfect volunteer role for you. Please note that once you select ‘view opportunities’ you will be redirected to our volunteering platform Better Impact.

Don’t see a role that suits? Register your interest in our volunteer program and provide us with some further details on how you would like to contribute.

After browsing our latest opportunities, select the volunteer role that you would like to apply for by clicking the ‘Fill in an Application’ button and follow the prompts. Please note that if you are new to using Baptistcare volunteer database management system (Better Impact), you will need to create an account. If you have used the Better Impact in the past, you can use the same login details.

In the application form, we ask for your contact details and availability and get you to tell us a little bit about yourself along with any skills and experience you can bring to Baptistcare.

All applications and enquiries by potential volunteers are followed up with a phone call to discuss in more detail and answer any questions you may have.

You’ll be invited to attend a face to face interview with one of our Lifestyle Coordinators or a nominated team member at your chosen location. This is a great opportunity for us to learn more about you and what you hope to experience as a Baptistcare volunteer.

You will be sent a link to complete your police check online and advised of your police clearance results. If successful, you will be notified by the relevant Lifestyle Coordinator or team member of your application outcome.

You will be enrolled in induction and orientation sessions and will be provided with a volunteer manual containing all our volunteering policies and processes. You will also be given access to our online learning system (MyLearning) to undertake some mandatory training relevant to your volunteer role.

Once you’ve completed steps 1 to 6 you are ready to join Baptistcare’s volunteer community and start enriching the lives of the people we care for.

“I think there’s a lot to be learned by just talking to people who are elderly and wise and they’ve gone through a lot of life experience. There’s not enough emphasis in listening to elderly people these days.”

“Yeah, the value of the volunteer to the residents is invaluable, I think.”
