The Baptistcare lifestyle
A personalised approach to aged care
A personalised approach
When you choose to live in a Baptistcare residential care facility, you will receive a personalised approach – a care plan designed just for you, by you, in consultation with our aged care specialists.
Providing a personalised approach to your aged care is at the heart of everything we do. We will listen to you, and your family if you wish, to understand you as a person beyond your health needs. By really getting to know you, we will be able to cater to your individual interests, needs and preferences to support the lifestyle you want to live.
A cosy and comfortable room
When you move in, we provide the basics – a comfortable bed, bedside table and cabinets for your clothes and belongings. To help you feel at home, you are welcome to personalise your room with a favourite chair or bookshelf to display your photos and other keepsakes.
If you would like to bring in electronics like a small TV or radio – just let us know. We can accommodate certain items, as long as it does not impact your safety or others. We want you to feel comfortable, cared for and at home.
High-quality, round the clock healthcare
At all Baptistcare residential care facilities you can expect friendly and capable health professionals to care for you. You will receive 24-hour care from our team of skilled registered nurses, nurse practitioners, enrolled nurses and support staff.
Your own doctor can visit you, or we can arrange one for you. You will have access to allied healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, podiatrists and speech pathologists. We also offer sensitive and supportive palliative care.
Glorious chef-designed, dietitian approved meals
Because nourishing meals are so important for older people, we prepare fresh, home-like meals daily using our own Baptistcare chefs located at all our residential care facilities.
Our five-star chefs have brought fine-dining to Baptistcare as part of a radical new approach to cooking for our aged care residents. There are plenty of options to choose from and we cater for special dietary requirements. Read more
Hobbies, friendship and lifestyle activities
We offer innovative social programs and entertainment inside and outside all Baptistcare residential care facilities, such as day trips, picnics and short bus outings.
These programs are available 7-days a week and are based on the interest and hobbies of residents at each residential care facility. You can decide to participate or not. Some of our residents love being creative and enjoy taking part in community events with their new friends. But if you prefer to chill out with your favourite book or TV show– that’s perfectly okay too.
If you have an interest, new ideas or hobby that you would like to pursue or continue, just let us know. We will do our best to incorporate it in your care plan, or tailor an activity to suit your specific needs and interests. After all, it’s all about you.
A free pastoral service for your spiritual wellbeing
Spiritual wellbeing goes hand in hand with physical and emotional wellbeing at Baptistcare, no matter what your religious beliefs or cultural background. Which is why we offer a free pastoral care and spiritual support service to all our residential care residents and their family members too.
Our chaplains are here for you if you ever need to talk, whether during times of transition or change, or during periods of grief and loss. Many of our residential care facilities also have a prayer/meditation room for you to use. Read more
Look and feel your best
Self care and pampering isn’t only for the ladies – health, beauty and wellness sessions feature regularly on the Baptistcare lifestyle calendar and are a favourite of both our male and female residents, as is our popular onsite hair salons available exclusively for our residents. These little luxuries are all about helping you look and feel your best.
An active lifestyle
It’s no secret that keeping active is vital to both physical and emotional health. Our Lifestyle teams are always looking for ways to provide many interesting activities including outings to suit all levels of mobility and designed to stimulate both the mind and body of our residents.
Staying in touch with family and friends
We know family and friends are important to you and are a big part of your life. Which is why we encourage your family, friends and other close connections to visit you regularly and spend quality time in ways that suit you and your loved ones. Where possible, our residents are encouraged to go out with family and friends for outings like birthday celebrations.
