There has been an unforeseen delay in receiving approval from the Department of Lands to transfer the Crown land from Baptistcare to Roshana Group which will result in the transition date changing to 26 February 2018.

Baptistcare will continue to manage these facilities until the new transition date.

We look forward to ensuring all employees, volunteers and residents are confident and well informed during this ongoing time of transition.

Baptistcare and Burswood Care Pty Ltd, which is part of the Roshana Group of Companies (Roshana Group), are pleased to jointly announce that Roshana Group will assume the ownership and management of three residential care facilities and one retirement village from Baptistcare – Gwen Hardie Lodge and Annie Bryson McKeown Lodge in Albany, and Sunshine Park Residential Care and Sunshine Park Retirement Village in Lesmurdie.

All other Baptistcare facilities and services, and the locations in which they are offered remain unchanged. The sale is expected to be completed on 1 November 2017, pending approval from the Department of Health.

Roshana Group is a leading, accredited provider based in Western Australia with over 20 years’ experience in aged care and mental health support services, including the ownership and operation of the Valencia Nursing Home in Carmel.

Russell Bricknell, Baptistcare Chief Executive Officer, explained that it is an exciting opportunity for both Baptistcare and Roshana Group with residents and employees set to benefit.

“We will be handing over the residential facilities and retirement village with the understanding that Roshana will refurbish and enhance the facilities and amenities, which will be of great benefit for residents and employees,” he said.

“The sale enables Baptistcare to invest in enhancing our existing sites and services to better meet the changing needs of our residents and customers. It will also give Baptistcare the opportunity to consider providing services in new locations.”

Rosh Jalagge, Roshana Group’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasised that the individual needs of residents and the on-going wellbeing of both employees and residents was a priority, ensuring a high-quality service for which Roshana Group is renowned.

Residents and their families have been notified of the changes. All permanent employees at the facilities will be offered employment with Roshana Group to ensure residents continue to be supported by highly skilled and caring staff,” he said.

Both organisations will manage the transition seamlessly, ensuring continuity of care at all times and minimal disruption. Baptistcare and Roshana share a similar commitment to the provision of high quality aged care and as such it will essentially be business as usual for the facilities.

Both Baptistcare and Roshana Group would like to recognise all employees at Annie Bryson McKeown Lodge, Gwen Hardie Lodge and Sunshine Park for their ongoing care and support to residents.

We are working closely with all employees and residents to ensure they are confident and well informed during this time of transition.
