COVID-19: Update as at 13 July

The WA State Government has now revised the Public Health Direction for Visitors to Residential Aged Care, aligning it to advice from the Commonwealth Government.

COVID-19: Update as at 30 April

We have reviewed our visitor protocols to determine how we can reintroduce face-to-face visits whilst safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our residents and employees. Each visitor must be individually screened so it is essential we manage visiting hours carefully to ensure our team members are not drawn away from providing essential care services.

COVID-19: Update as at 16 April 2020

As we approach winter, we want to update you on our response to ensure our preventative actions don’t create any unnecessary concern or speculation. As you may know, symptoms of the common cold are confusingly similar to COVID-19. To ensure we take every precaution, we will sensitively and proactively treat ANY resident with cold and flu symptoms with protective measures until we receive a definitive medical diagnosis.

COVID-19: Update as at 20 March 2020

Effective immediately, all Baptistcare residential care facilities have entered a preventative lockdown. No Baptistcare employee or resident has tested positive to COVID-19, however the risk remains high that a visitor to a facility may inadvertently introduce the virus. We do not know at this time when this restriction will be lifted but trust you appreciate the reasons behind our decision.

COVID-19: Update as at 18 March 2020

The Minister for Health has today announced new precautionary measures for residential care facilities in an effort to prevent the virus from entering facilities and containing it, if and as needed. It includes the directive that aged care facilities restrict access for ALL visitors to minimise the risk to our residents and employees.
