We are making this announcement now to provide customers and employees with as much time as possible to understand the changes and take their next steps in a calm and considered way.
Over the coming months we will be talking to our customers and their families, helping them find new service providers and assisting our employees working in Disability Services to help identify future career opportunities.
Relevant government agencies have been informed of our plans and are fully supportive of our approach, recognising our comprehensive arrangements to support customers and employees through this transition.
We will work with our customers and their representatives on an individual basis to ensure they are able to identify the right provider, best suited to their needs, for their ongoing support.
Our People and Culture Team are available to support our employees and provide them with personalised information which will inform their decisions as we recognise that every employee will have different personal circumstances, preferences and plans.
We envisage that many of our Disability Services’ customers may want their current support worker to move with them to their new service provider. Alternatively, an employee may want to explore another role within Baptistcare or we may identify a redeployment opportunity for them.
This is a significant announcement, but we re-emphasise that nothing changes immediately and the transition will take some time to complete.
We are committed to working with every person individually and providing them with the information and support they need through this period of change.
