Volunteering
The benefits of becoming a volunteer
Volunteers form a vital connection between Baptistcare care recipients and the wider community. Giving the gift of your time can be incredibly rewarding, and helps ensure that the work of Baptistcare can continue.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to:
- Make a difference to the lives of others and to give back to your community
- Develop new skills
- Gain valuable work experience if you are between jobs
- Find out if a career in Aged Care would suit you
- Gain practical experience to enhance tertiary study in Aged Care or Allied Health
- Keep active after retirement
What sort of activities would I be involved in as a volunteer?
Volunteers can bring variety and warmth into people’s lives in many ways, including:
- Reading and talking with residents
- Indoor and outdoor activities
- Board games
