Community Visitors Scheme
As part of a national program, Baptistcare coordinates volunteers to visit selected residents of aged care facilities on a regular, one-to-one basis in most of the metropolitan area as well as Mandurah and Pinjarra.
Community visitors add to the quality of life of the resident by being a companion, confidante and friend and by helping them to feel more involved in their community.
Community visitors visit the resident at least once a fortnight. The visitor and the resident may like to read, chat, do crosswords, reminisce, or listen to music. If the resident is able, they might take a walk or go on an outing.
Aged care residents come from a variety of different social and cultural backgrounds, and so volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome.
