Natalie Curley commended at ACSWA

Posted: 21st Jul 2011

Baptistcare’s Ms Natalie Curley has recently received a commendation as a nominated finalist at the ACSWA Excellence in Care, Aged Care Awards held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.

Ms Curley, who has juggled part-time studies in nursing as well as supporting her husband who lives with a disability and  their three children, was recently appointed to the position of Clinical Care Co-ordinator at Baptistcare’s Gracewood facility in Salter Point.

Ms Curley’s dedication and passion for her work, which she embarked on in 1996 as a Personal Carer, made her a worthy nominee for the Award.

“The skills and knowledge Natalie now brings to her work with the elderly residents at Gracewood is irreplaceable and she has become an integral part of the team in her new role, taking on the new challenges with enthusiasm and passion.”

“She is the first to arrive in the day and the last to leave, always giving 110 percent to the residents, staff and families,” said Gracewood Manager Ms Dianne Sutherland.

Ms Curley draws inspiration from her learning and experiences, recalling one particular anecdote she picked up at a training course.

“I always remember one line this man said to us which was to leave someone better off than you found them, and I think we can do that by working in aged care.”

Natalie is planning to complete a Masters degree and her ambition is to represent aged care at a higher level in our society.

Baptistcare CEO, Dr Lucy Morris commented that Baptistcare is very proud of Natalie’s achievements and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours and to achieve her dreams.

“We look forward to supporting Natalie and helping her to reach her goals,” Dr Morris said.
