Baptistcare goes to Bali

Posted: 22nd Dec 2011

Three of Baptistcare’s Bassendean Community Living residents Carin Post, Michelle Buckland and Jenny Willey have recently enjoyed their first trip to Bali together with the help of their support workers Susanne Simpson and Margaret Richardson.

The ladies were able to achieve their dream of travelling to the tropical island for a five day holiday they will never forget, thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm shared by their support workers who spent 18 months planning the overseas adventure.

The ladies spent the days escaping the relentless Bali sun at the beach and by the pools. The group indulged in delicious meals and beverages whilst taking full advantage of Bali’s shopping districts.

One of the support workers, Sue, had many useful connections which made the women feel right at home in the foreign country.

The trip yielded many highlights including an amazing evening at the Ducks Nuts Restaurant and a day trip to the Safari Park.

The adventure was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved and was particularly rewarding for support workers Sue and Margaret.

Sue commented that “The whole holiday brought us all closer together”.

The trip was so successful that Baptistcare is hoping to continue to accompany clients to travel destinations of their choice. This news comes as a delight to Carin, Michelle and Jenny who now have the “travel bug” and have already began planning their next journey together!
